The Editor Zambia
Reports by Makebi Zulu and Brian Mundubile team that police in Chipata, Eastern Province removed and instructed them not to return to Lusaka are untrue and unfounded. The report is merely a cheap propaganda and political stunt meant to mislead the public.
The truth is that the police were pursuing individuals alleged to have committed aggravated robbery in Lusaka and later left for Chipata.
Claims that police went to smoke out Mundubile and Makebi from Protea Hotel are reckless and careless.
The said suspects had been on the Zambia police wanted list for crimes committed in Lusaka before they fled to Chipata, disguising as opposition security detail.
The opposition was quick to spread false information and misleading the public to sway the public from knowing the truth about events at Protea Chipata.
Mundubile and Makebi Zulu are known for lies and propaganda, but this will not help Tonse Alliance to win votes.
The Tonse and PF Pamodzi made some misleading posting on various social media platforms suggesting that the Zambia Police had chased the Tonse Alliance presidential candidate and his running mate from Chipata in Eastern Province and further instructed the duo not to return to Chipata.
The message was contrary to the true reflection on the ground, where police were pursuing individuals alleged to have committed aggravated robbery in Lusaka and later left for Chipata.
The fact that the said suspects were in the company of political leaders or formed part of the security detail of some political leaders does not insulate the criminals from facing the long arm of the law to answer for their alleged atrocities, or it is ti because Mundubile wants to rule like Lungu.
Police’s action to arrest the suspects in the presence of Mundubile and Makebi Zulu does not amount to hounding out the opposition political leaders from Chipata or banning them from ever returning to Chipata.
The instructions were very clear. Police went to pick individuals who had earlier committed a crime. There is nothing political about this.
Further police did not go inside the hotel rooms to search and fish out the two leaders, but asked a few individuals suspected to have committed a crime in Lusaka to jump on police vehicles.
The posts by the two leaders are clearly untrue, unfounded, and a cheap propaganda aimed at gaining political mileage.
The matter has nothing to do with the Tonse Alliance presidential candidate and his running mate. It is about those who were wanted by the Police in Lusaka.
It expected of all political leaders to be truthful in their public information delivery.
The misinformation by the Tonse/ Pamodzi leeader is proof that the current crop of opposition presidential candidates have no serious agenda, hence resorting to lies to hoodwink unsuspecting voters.
Mundubile and Makebi Zulu should desist from misleading the public.
It is understandable and painful at the same time for Mundubile and his running mate to have spent two days at the funeral in Chipata in search of recognition but never got it.
The simple reality is that the PF pamozi/Tonse Alliance has no serious governance agenda. They have no coherent economic blueprint, no genuine policy proposals, and no message of hope.
What they have, however, is a well-documented strategy of violence, misinformation, and ethnic agitation.
Having failed to convince Zambians on policy, they have resorted to gutter politics.
Their manifesto is not policy but propaganda. Their tools are not ideas but insults. Their goal is not national development but tribal capture.
