The People’s Alliance for Change (PAC) is at crossroads after the new political entrant Dolika Banda withdrew from the party convention at the last minute.
Sources say Dolika Banda’s withdrawal follows disagreements with Andfold Banda, who rejected to give up the party presidency before receiving a payment from the sale of the party.
Andford Banda refused to give up the presidency and presidential candidate for 2026 to Dolika Banda, an arrangement that would have given her sweeping control of the party before receiving the money as agreed.
Dolika Banda, niece to fifth president Rupiah Banda, was yesterday supposed to be unveiled as a PAC leader and the candidate for the 2026 general elections.
Sources say Dolika Banda made unrealistic demands that made Andford Banda uncomfortable and made to proceed with convention to avoid political irrelevance.
A senior official in the party has disclosed that Dolika Banda made unreasonable demands in the last minute before yesterday’s party convention.
The source said Dolika Banda demanded to audit all the appointment letters of all the structures in the party.
“Dolika Banda started demanding things, which did not make sense. Imagine, she demanded all the appointment letters for wards, districts, provincial, and national leadership.”
However, the truth of the matter is that Dolika Banda refused to make a payment upfront, resulting in mistrust.
Last week, we exposed the PAC transaction.
Meanwhile, people close to Dolika Banda have revealed that the new political entrant has moved to United for Better Zambia (UBZ), a Party for Apostle President Hector Soondo.
United for Better Zambia (UBZ) is the member of the Tonse Alliance where membership is tied to the former ruling patriotic front.
