Chishimba Kambwili, the former Information and Broadcasting Minister, is still recovering from a devastating road traffic accident that occurred on October 16, 2024, near Kasama. Unfortunately, the accident claimed the lives of his two brothers, Mutale and Mwamba Kambwili.
Kambwili himself was injured in the accident and was evacuated to Lusaka for medical treatment. 
The government has since conveyed its condolences to Kambwili’s family, with Information and Media Permanent Secretary Thabo Kawama stating that the government takes care of everyone equally, regardless of their political affiliation.
Kambwili’s current health status has rendered him unfit to appear in court, where he is scheduled to face trial on charges of unlawful assembly and threatening violence.
