TAX EDUCATION CRUCIAL IN PROMOTING COMPLIANCE

The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has conducted a tax sensitization symposium for selected Members of Parliament (MPs).

The two-day symposium which took place in Livingstone from 16th to 17th November, 2024, was part of the reinforced efforts by ZRA, to improve tax education and reduce the knowledge gap on tax matters among the citizenry.

Providing information about taxes and the tax system, is crucial in promoting compliance.

Speaking during the official opening of the symposium, Clerk of the National Assembly, Roy Ngulube said the meeting provided a conducive environment for detailed engagement between Members of Parliament and the Zambia Revenue Authority, on how to enhance domestic resource mobilisation.

Meanwhile, the ZRA Commissioner General Dingani Banda reiterated that through tax collection and administration, the Authority ensures mobilisation of the necessary domestic resources to fund public services and national budgets.
