Apart from other finances contributed by other stakeholders for initial stages of the road works such as drainage excavations, Lusaka City Council allocated Four Hundred Thousand Kwacha-K400 000 under the 2024 Ward Development Fund towards the upgrade of the road.

The road was in poor condition and was usually impassable in the rainy season which resulted in low sales for the traders at nearby Markets.

This prompted Chinika Ward 11 Councillor Mr. Masauso Ngoma to engage other stakeholders to mobilise resources to cushion the deficit on the Ward Fund provided for the road works by the Local Authority.

Additionally, installation of key access points along the same road has been concluded.

This will provide remedial measures to avert floods that usually occur in rainy season due to lack of proper drainage system along the road and in BH market.

Lusaka City Council is currently working on implementing measures aimed at preventing floods and improving sanitation within the city.
