Government has expressed happiness with the church for the role its playing in contributing to the national development.
Speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Reverend Abraham Mwale at the Reformed Church in Zambia (RCZ) Chelstone congregation, Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises, Elias Mubanga, recognized the church’s support in health, agriculture, and education.
Mr Mubanga says that the UPND government is committed to viewing the church as a crucial partner in development efforts.
He adds that the church has a vital role in shaping the morals and values of young people.
He has further commended the church for providing essential spiritual guidance to the wider community.
Mr Mubanga also took the opportunity to outline the government policies that offer mutual benefits for both the church and the state.
The Minister has encouraged the church to explore income-generating activities for enhanced productivity.
He has also urged the congregation to consider applying for the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to support community-focused initiatives.
Mr Mubanga highlighted the importance of youth empowerment through skills training for self-sufficiency.
Meanwhile, Reverend Abraham Mwale and the church council expressed gratitude for the Minister’s visit and reiterated the church’s commitment to community collaboration.
