His worship the Mayor of Chongwe Mr. Christopher Habeenzu has today officially commissioned a solar plant mounted at Palabana Rural Health Center by When Females Lead (WFL) with support from Eco-hive Energy at a total cost of k610,000.

Mr Habeenzu said that the project signifies great possibilities that can be achieved if partnerships are forged with shared goals and genuine commitment to the wellbeing of our communities adding that this development will enable the clinic in ensuring that better health care is provided and more of our people have access to the care they deserve.

He said that this kind of Corporate Social responsibility resonates well the government’s mission to uplift and empower communities, foster inclusive and sustainable development in the district while working to build a foundation for a healthier and more resilient future.

He said this in a speech read on his behalf by Palabana Ward councillor Mr. Dickson Shamba.

And WFL founder and director Mrs. Diana Mukali Tavaris commended her organization’s continued support adding that the solar panel plant is only the beginning.Meanwhile, Eco-Hive Energy Head of Marketing Mrs Thabo Manila said that Palabana Rural Health Center is a pillar in the community that saves as a lifeline for many families in the ward and will therefore continue to support the community by providing reliable power supply as well as upgrading essential facilities through initiatives that encourage sustainable practices.

Palabana Rural Health Center staff thanked the government and the 2 partners for this initiative as it will ensure that the laboratory conduct various tests at any time and labor deliveries and other emergencies can also be attended to at any time with ease.

Furthermore Palabana Rural Health Centre -Public health officer Ms Natasha Chitandula cautioned the community against vandalism adding that this project is an investment in the future of everyone.
