It is alleged that on 11th April, 2019, Mr. LUSAMBO attacked STANLEY MUSUKWA, a 58-year-old NDC member, using a machete, causing severe head and facial injuries.

Magistrate CHILUBA, in his ruling, considered the evidence presented by both the prosecution and defence, including a medical report that substantiated MUSUKWA’s injuries as consistent with a sharp weapon.

Witness testimonies, including those from law enforcement, prosecution and defence placed Mr. LUSAMBO at the crime scene, identifying him as the assailant.

Me. LUSAMBO’s sentencing is expected once he is apprehended and presented before the court.

Meanwhile, in the related charge of assault against a second complainant, MARY MUSONDA, Magistrate CHILUBA acquitted Mr. LUSAMBO, citing insufficient evidence from the State prosecution team, led by MORGAN SHATEMBO.

The judgment, initially scheduled for September 9, 2024, was postponed following Mr. LUSAMBO’s nonappearance.

His legal counsel, JOSHUA NJOVU of Kayuni and Associates, had since withdrawn representation.
