Zanaco has successfully processed payments amounting to over K5 billion on behalf of the Food Reserve Agency. The payments include disbursements to farmers that supplied maize to the Food Reserve Agency (FRA).

Zanaco Chief Executive Officer, Mukwandi Chibesakunda, says a total of K5.258 Billion has been paid through Zanaco branches, Mobile Network Operators and other financial institutions.

These payments have been made in key agriculture districts such as Chisamba, Chibombo, Mkushi, Kapiri Mposhi, Kafue, and Itezhi Tezhi.

Other districts include Choma, Monze, Gwembe, Mazabuka, Namwala, Chipata, Lundazi, Petauke, Nakonde, Mpika, Kasama, Mungwi, Mporokoso, Kawambwa, Ndola, Solwezi, and Senanga.

Mrs. Chibesakunda emphasized that Zanaco remains steadfast in putting customers first by supporting Governmentโ€™s efforts to ensure farmers receive their payments.

โ€œTo make this possible, the bank has extended banking hours in 19 branches and is offering weekend banking services- we do not want to leave any farmer behind.

To further enhance convenience and accessibility, Zanaco has also deployed Cash-in-Transit solutions to support service in far flung areas, and expanded the use of digital platforms, providing farmers with multiple payment optionsโ€, Mrs Chibesakunda said.

Mrs. Chibesakunda also encouraged farmers to take advantage of the electronic platforms and the Cash-in-Transit services available in various parts of the country.

This initiative underscores Zanacoโ€™s dedication to empowering farming communities and strengthening Zambiaโ€™s agricultural sector by ensuring that farmers are paid quickly and securely.
