EMMANUEL Mwamba, the Patriotic Front (PF) faction
chairperson in charge of information and publicity has acknowledged that the former ruling party will lose the 2026 general elections.
Mwamba, who specialises in negative propaganda against the UPND government, has admitted that the PF does not have the numbers to defeat the ruling party in next’s elections.
Mwamba strongly lamented that no single opposition candidate has the capacity to defeat President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND.
His confession comes despite his relentless attacks on President Hichilema. His attacks are neither born out of patriotism nor a desire to speak for the voiceless. Instead, Mwamba’s propaganda is deeply rooted in ethnic and personal hatred.
While President Hichilema has continued preaching unity among Zambians, Mwamba is on a propaganda crusade, spreading lies against the new dawn government. His obsession is not about national interest; it is pure bitterness.
Mwamba’s worry is the fear of spending another five years in exile as a fugitive – tough life for him to sustain and survive.
Mwamba’s only hope is crying for Given Lubinda to reach out to other opposition leaders such as Brian Mundubile, Fred M’membe, Peter Chanda, Harry Kalaba and Kelvin Fube Bwaya to come together for a common goal.
Mwamba’s concern is that should the opposition political parties remain divided and insist on fielding individual presidential candidates in 2026 – the opposition risk splitting the vote in favour of the ruling party.
“If we let Brian Mundubile stand alone, we let Fred M’membe stand alone, we let KBF stand alone; these are strong forces, they will divide the vote and President Hichilema will walk through – like Mike Mposha did in Munali constituency”.
His lamentation comes amid deepened political infighting in the former ruling party. This has seen some members leaving the former ruling party to join the UPND.
The infighting in the PF has affected the Tonse Alliance, which has led to the departure of key members such as Peter Chanda of NCP and Kelvin Fube Bwalya of the ZMP.
Mwamba claims what was happening in Chawama is totally uncalled for, saying differences among Given Lubinda, Harry Kalaba, and between Peter Chanda must be resolved if the opposition were to win the election.
Mwamba knows that what happened in parliament over Bill 7 will most likely happen in the Chawama by-election.
The political environment on the ground in Chawama shows that Morgan Muunda is way ahead of other contestants to winning the parliamentary seat.
However, political comentators have reminded Mwamba that Articles 20 and 21 of the Zambian Constitution give every eligible Zambian right to associate freely without due influence from anyone.
Mwamba should not overstep his democratic rights by suggesting that presidents of other opposition political parties should not contest elections on their individual party tickets.
Mwamba has become desperate because the reality has dawned on him – the opposition has no capacity to win the 2026 general elections.
Mwamba is slowly accepting that there is no change of government after next year elections.
He has openly admitted that President Hichilema will easily walk past the 2026 general election. It’s a walk in the park for President Hichilema in 2026.
Mwamba is convinced that what is happening in Chawama will happen in 2026. His propaganda against the UPND government has failed.
The people of Chawama are resolved to vote for Morgan Muunda. The environment on the ground is showing Morgan Muunda way ahead of other opposition candidates, and Mwamba knows. Hence, he says the opposition will pay heavily if the opposition doesn’t unite.
