Mwamba, who is also PF presidential aspiring candidate, last night questioned the government’s perceived failure to name the company printing the new banknotes.

Using his facebook page, verified, Mwamba ignorantly alleged a hidden agenda by the government.
However, Minister of Finance Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane clearly explained to Parliament that the company that is printing the new banknotes would be revealed once the printing of all notes is completed.

The Minister explained that because the new medium value notes and coins, which include the 100 Kwacha, 50 Kwacha, 1 Kwacha, 50 Ngwee, 10 Ngwee, and 5 Ngwee denominations, are not yet in circulation, government would not disclose the name of the company for security reasons.

Policy analysts described Mwamba rhetoric demands on the matter as unreasonable and a sign of someone’s thinking bankruptcy.

The Bank of Zambia will only disclose the name of the company when the other banknotes are printed.

The new K100 and K50 banknotes are scheduled for release in September 2025. Instead of speculating on issues we little understand, let’s wait for the planned release date, BoZ expert advsied.

Bank of Zambia is in compliance with the law, Article 30(1) of the Bank of Zambia Act, which states that the Central Bank has exclusive rights to issue notes and coins in Zambia.

Part 5 of the Act, which deals with monetary units, notes, and coins, doesn’t require the Bank to disclose the company printing the notes.

Let’s focus on verifying information through official channels rather than speculating about potential hidden agendas.

For now, let’s ignore Emmanuel Mwamba and his mischievous allegations, which are littered with propaganda, the expert said.
