
THE Zambia Meteorological Department (ZMD) has revealed that a tropical storm named Faida will cause a temporary reduction in rainfall in some parts of Zambia.
The storm which has winds of 85 kilometers per hour is said to be moving west towards Madagascar.
According to ZMD, it is expected to reach Madagascar today and that the storm will pass through the country from February 3 to 5, 2025 and then move into the Mozambique Channel on February 6.
Although Faida will not directly hit Zambia, it will affect rainfall, the weather department disclosed that less rain is expected in Southern, Western, Lusaka and Central Provinces as well as the southern parts of Northwestern Province, between February 3 and 10.
ZMD promised that it will continue to track the storm and provide daily weather updates as it advised the public to follow official weather reports for the latest information.
