Livingstone Magistrate Thabita Muleya has found Francis Kabwe Kapwepwe, commonly known as ‘Why Me,’ with a case to answer.
Magistrate Muleya says after hearing from the prosecution witnesses, she is satisfied that a prima facie case has been established.
This was today, in a case where Mr. Kapwepwe is accused of expressing hatred for persons because of race, tribe, and place of origin, and for hate speech, contrary to the laws of Zambia.
Magistrate Muleya has placed the accused on his defense and has since adjourned the matter to January 15, 2025, for the commencement of defense.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kapwepwe remains in custody as the two sureties, including Miles Sampa, had not yet been verified by the state prosecutors at the time of the ruling.
