A Tonse Alliance-aligned MP Jean Chisenga has been accused of stealing valuables and money from a United Party for National Development (UPND) camp.
Police in Kawambwa have since launched a manhunt for Chisenga who is facing various charges and is on the run.
According to Luapula Province Police Commissioner Mwala Yuyi, the MP is suspected of participating in an illegal search at a lodge where UPND members were staying.
The UPND members reportedly lost money and other valuables during the search.
The police are currently investigating the incident, and the MP’s identity has not been disclosed.
