The Zambia men’s national team has moved seven places up in the latest FIFA rankings.
The Chipolopolo boys now sit at 87th position, from 94th on the global chart, and are currently ranked 18th in Africa.
The rise follows back-to-back wins against Côte d’Ivoire and Sierra Leone in the Group G qualifiers for the Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
In an interview with ZNBC Sports, Chipolopolo Soccer Fans Association Chairman YOTHAM MWANZA has expressed excitement about the achievement.
MWANZA has urged the Copper Bullets to maintain their winning streak and achieve good results if the team is to secure a higher ranking.
And Sports enthusiast HENRY HIMOONDE has also described the ranking as a well-deserved elevation.
HIMOONDE says Zambia is gradually regaining its lost glory in football.
