Former President Edgar Lungu has attributed the recent national blackout to President Hakainde Hichilema’s alleged mismanagement of ZESCO. According to the statement, Lungu claims this is the first total blackout in Zambian history.
However, records show that similar incidents occurred in 2007 and 2015 due to faults in the grid.Lungu was president when the country experienced a blackout caused by a tripping at Kariba North Bank.Dora Siliya then Energy Minister announced the development.Lungu may have been intoxicated during the blackout in 2015, citing rumours of his frequent drunkenness during his presidency.
They also accuse him of politicking and urge him to await the court’s outcome on December 10, 2024.
