Lundazi Town Council Chairperson, Mr. Golden Tembo , has urged contractors who have taken on the job to construct the Modern Lundazi Bus Station and Market to prioritize hiring qualified local residents in various fields.
He made this plea during a courtesy call for the site handover of the project, emphasizing the importance of empowering the local community through job opportunities.
As Lundazi district continues to grow, with a population of over 154,908 people, initiatives like this can significantly boost the local economy.
Mr. Tembo’s appeal aligns with the council’s efforts to enhance service delivery and address the human resource gap in the local authority.
The construction of the Modern Lundazi Bus Station and Market is a significant development project, expected to improve infrastructure and stimulate economic activity in the area.
By involving local residents in the construction process, the project can have a more profound impact on the community.
Mr. Tembo has previously expressed satisfaction with the implementation of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects in Lundazi, acknowledging the New Dawn Government’s support.
This latest appeal demonstrates his ongoing commitment to ensuring that local development benefits the community directly.
The Lundazi Town Council has made strides in upgrading local facilities, including the recent handover of a market shelter and ablution block to the Chimutyulu community, funded by the CDF.
Mr. Tembo’s call to action reinforces the council’s focus on community-driven development.
