Netizens are roasting Tonse Alliance leader Brian Mundubile for failing to outline his economic blueprint for Zambia.
Mundubile is among political leaders offering themselves as an alternatives to the incumbent Republican President Hakainde Hichilema.
Mundubile faced intense scrutiny from the interviewer, Costa Mwansa, when the Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) Tonse Alliance leader appeared on Diamond TV’s “COSTA” show
Most viewers expressed disappointment with Mundubile’s responses for lacking substance and depth regarding specific plans he has for Zambia’s economy and the mining sector.
Mundubile demonstrated a lack of depth required for the role of Republican President for Zambia. This was evident from his responses to Costa Mwansa’s questions during the interview aired live on Diamond TV earlier this week.
Mundubile appeared lacking technical capabilities to understand the economy or on how to grow it.
When asked for specific policies, Mundubile reportedly asked the presenter to wait for his upcoming manifesto, a move seen by some analysts as dodging the question for lack of knowledge on the subject matter.
“Why wait for the manifesto if you can actually use the opportunity to sell it on such an open television programme? He highly exposed his lack of knowledge on the economy and governance, generally,” one viewer wrote in the comment sections.
Mundubile exposed himself that he does not have any tangible alternative economic solutions for Zambia.
More political commentators deemed his performance as per average. He was unprepared to answer questions on the economy. He often reverted to generic statements rather than providing detailed, actionable solutions.
Social media reactions were largely disappointed too, describing Mundubile’s performance as shallow and lacking the technical capability to manage the Zambian economy.
“Mundubile will do himself a favour to take time and learn from President Hakainde Hichilema,” equipped another viewer.
The FDD Tonse Alliance leader failed to answer 90% of the questions he was asked, ranging from the economy, governance, politics, etc.
Mundubile also failed to point out bad clauses in bill 7, which he led fellow opposition members of parliament to boycott the vote.
Mundubile, a junior lawyer, displayed a serious lack of capacity to govern a nation when he failed to outline his plans for the country.
During the interview, Costa Mwansa reminded Mundubile of his role in the previous administration, where he had achieved nothing, yet he wanted Zambians to vote for him as President of Zambia.
