“What’s good for the goose is good for the gander!”. if something is acceptable, or beneficial for one person, it should be equally acceptable for another

Fred M’membe, leader of the Socialist Party, has come out guns blazing, calling all his comrades who have left his socialist movement as practicing monkey politics.
M’membe has accused his ex-officials who have left the party that wherever they hear there’s money changing hands, they run there like monkeys running to a maize field.
The Socialist Party suffered resignations at different levels of the party structures across the country.
M’membe’s frustrations come after his party lost key figures due to dictatorial and undemocratic tendencies in the party.
According to M’membe, he has failed to understand why people were changing their positions, affiliations, and loyalty like monkeys jumping from one branch to another.
M’membe should accept that democracy is built on the principle of pluralism, acknowledgement that society is composed of diverse individuals with differing perspectives, values, and interests.
The former Post newspaper editor should accept that democracy fundamentally means accepting the existence, expression, and participation of views you do not agree with.
Losing structures across the country close to an election can be a drawback on party mobilization.
M’membe’s party has lost a significant number of officials, aspiring candidates, and general membership, which includes but not limited to the following;
- National youth leader Kelvin Kaunda
- Deputy general secretary Antonio Mwanza
- Party spokesperson Fr. Frank Bwalya
- National campaign manager Alfred Chama
- Comrade Chungu Hope
- Comrade Crispin Chiinda
- Luumbo Ward chairman Goldwin Mundando
- Kasama mayoral aspirant Joseph Mubanga
- Local government aspiring candidate Luapula Ivo Mpasa,
- Strongman Innocent Kalimanshi
Politics is tough. Before M’membe calls his fallen comrades, monkey politicians who behave worse than a chameleon, he should realise that politics teyabana iyoo.
M’membe today is crying about monkey political tactics. He is accusing his former comrades of lacking strong personal values, principles, and beliefs.
M’membe has been practicing divisive politics and regionalism.
People have not forgotten when M’membe used his newspaper to advance his political ambitions.
Not too long ago, M’membe went to dine with the very people who closed his newspaper for political expedience and opportunism.
For his political survival, M’membe went to team up with the very people Zambians kicked out of government for plundering national resources with impunity.
This is the same M’membe who went into an alliance with a party that was kicked out of government due to rampant corruption, violence, nepotism, and theft of public resources.
How can M’membe accuse his fellow politicians follow where money is changing hands and liken them to monkeys running to a maize field? What is Fred M’membe doing in Caracas if not for the money?
