KBF DISOWNED

As leadership struggle deepens in Tonse Alliance

Patriotic Front Member Ibrahim Mwamba says Kelvin Bwalya Fube (KBF) is not a recognized member of the Tonse Alliance and therefore lacks the authority to comment on Tonse Alliance activities.

His comments come after Fube, leader of Zambia Must Prosper, stirred up controversy within the Tonse Alliance by questioning the leadership of Given Lubinda, the acting president of the Patriotic Front (PF) faction.

Fube also challenged the notion that the PF serves as the backbone of the Tonse Alliance, asserting that this claim lacks merit.

But Mwamba a Given Lubinda surrogate says Fube did not officially joined the alliance through the required ceremony of appending his signature to adhere to the Tonse Alliance constitution.

Few days ago, we reported that there was serious leadership tag of war in the Patriotic Front and Tonse Alliance.

Below is the statement from Ibrahim Mwamba

STATEMENT ON KBF’S STATUS WITHIN THE TONSE ALLIANCE

As the President of the Southern African Students and Youth Development Association, I would like to clarify that Kelvin Bwalya Fube (KBF) is not a recognized member of the Tonse Alliance.

Despite his claims, he has not officially joined the alliance through the required ceremony of appending his signature to adhere to the Tonse Alliance constitution.

I urge KBF to seek guidance and officially apply to join the Tonse Alliance through the correct channels. Until then, he lacks the authority to comment on Tonse Alliance activities.

I would also like to remind Professor Dan Pule that his position as interim chairman was elective, and he stepped down to deputize President Edgar Lungu.

The Tonse Alliance constitution clearly states that the anchor party, the Patriotic Front (PF), will lead the alliance.

President Lungu left the alliance in the capable hands of the PF, as stipulated in the constitution.

There is no clause that suggests the deputy chairman will lead the alliance.
As a full member of the Tonse Alliance Council of Leaders, I appended my signature to the constitution and agreed to its terms. KBF, through his Zambia Must Prosper organization, has not done so and therefore remains outside the alliance.

I call upon KBF to seek official recognition from Hon. Lubinda, the Acting Chairman of the Tonse Alliance.

SASYDA PRESIDENT
Ibrahim Kabwe Mwamba
Tonse alliance council of leaders member.
