Honestly, there was no way Hon. Maureen Mabonga could have successfully defended herself in her sedition case. It’s unfortunate that the people she was trying to represent, without wise counsel, are not stepping forward to support her, and now she risks losing her parliamentary seat.
The most regrettable aspect is that the Bemba and Eastern communities did not ask her to speak on their behalf regarding the government’s arrest of Hon. JJ Banfa. Her statements were not authorized and solely reflected her personal views, which were driven by anger, frustration, and a lack of wisdom.
I feel sorry for you, Honourable but thanks for donating your seat because we’re going to win with an earthquake victory.
