A MAZABUKA ex-convict who seems to be allergic to freedom is on the run after reportedly defiling a nine year old girl.
The incident happened on April 27, 2025, at approximately 14:00 hours in Stage 2 Compound.
It is reported that the minor was sent by her mother to purchase an item in Stage 2 Compound of Mazabuka and while on her errand, she encountered Victor Mabebo, the ex-convict, who reportedly enticed her with K5 before leading her to his house. 
Once the child got inside his house, Mabebo defiled her and later released her.
According to Southern Province police commanding officer, Auxensio Daka, a vigilant neighbour took notice of the victim’s irregular behaviour after her encounter with Mabebo.
The neighbour who was keenly aware of Mabebo’s criminal history grew suspicious and approached the suspect, challenging him about his involvement with the minor.
After being questioned, Mabebo panicked and fled the scene.
Following Mabebo’s suspicious exit, the neighbour promptly alerted the victim’s mother who reacted swiftly by reporting the incident to Mazabuka Police Station.
“A medical report form was issued, and the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment,” Daka revealed.
“The suspect has not yet been apprehended but investigations are still ongoing.”
