A PROVINCIAL Minister (name withheld) is aiding a Chinese firm, JINGNENG Mining Limited, through CHIFUPU Minerals, in conducting mining exploration activities in an area licensed to KENLEN Minerals Limited (License No: 25160-HQ-LEL).
The Minister is using proxies to influence unlawful orders to conduct illegal mining activities in the area covering Chief Machiya, Chief Ngabwe, Chieftainess Shimukunami, and Chief Kasempa.
Traditional leaders in the affected area say neither CHIFUPU Minerals nor Black Inkalamo obtained their consent for mining activities. The traditional leaders assert that they were not consulted, and the companies have never sought any necessary approvals. 
During the Patriotic Front (PF) rule, KENLEN Minerals Limited had its valid exploration license seized and transferred to Black Inkalamo. In 2023, the company faced a similar situation, this time with CHIFUPU Resources Limited, which is linked to influential figures in the Copperbelt province.
