In a press briefing held this afternoon, Ministry of Information and Media Permanent Secretary Thabo Kwana addressed several matters, including the status of former president Edgar Lungu.

He said the former president was recuperating in South Africa after completing the chemotherapy.

And Kawana has urged surrogates using the former president to stop.

He said the former president needs some rest adding that those using his name to peddle propaganda were doing deservice to him.

He has also given government’s stance on convicted former Defense Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM).

Kawana refuted claims that government is blocking GBM from seeking specialist health treatment in South Africa.

Instead, Kawana said some South African health facilities have imposed conditions due to his status as an inmate.
