A source within the alliance has confirmed that a power struggle is underway, with factions vying for control over the alliance’s activities.

The source further revealed that Sean Tembo who championed the formation of Tonse Alliance has been sidelined in the decision-making process.

Soon Tembo will be kicked out of the Tonse Alliance just like he was kicked out of United Kwacha Alliance.

Yesterday, Sean Tembo, the mouthpiece of the Tonse Alliance, announced that the alliance had noted with regret a circulating poster alleging a joint press briefing with other opposition parties and civil society organizations today, March 22, 2025.

Tembo clarified that Chairman Edgar Lungu had not authorized the alliance to participate in any joint press briefing.

Furthermore, he stated that the alliance’s lawyers had been instructed to engage the organizers and request the removal of the Tonse Alliance logo from the poster.

However, in a surprising turn of events, Tonse Alliance officials, including PF faction Vice president Given Lubinda, secretary general Raphael Nakachinda, attended the briefing at the Chrismar Hotel this morning, despite the earlier denial.
