JUST a thought of a father considering his own daughter as a sexual object is an unthinkable act that goes against all principles of morality and humanity says gospel artiste, Esther Chungu.
Chungu described the recent defilement case involving a father who sexually abused his cancer hospitalised 7-year-old daughter as a gross abuse of power and a clear violation of sacred trust between a parent and a child.
When she appeared on Diamond TV this morning, Esther wondered how a man can look at his own daughter and only see an opportunity to satisfy his twisted desires.
“We cannot just shy away from the truth as this is not just some twisted instinct or uncontrollable impulse. This is the work of something dark, something demonic, something that seeks to desecrate the sanctity of parenthood and exploit the innocent and helpless,” said Chungu.
“We must pray against the demonic forces of rape and incest, let us pray to God to protect our children from these vile acts of rape and incest because together through prayer, we can cast out the demons that threaten the safety and innocence of young children.”
Esther also turned to scripture to support her call for vigilance and prayer in the face of sexual abuse, drawing upon the powerful words of Jeremiah 17:9.
“In Jeremiah 17;9 the Bible says, the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can understand it? Let this be our reminder to remain vigilant against the ill intentions that may hide within the hearts of those around us,” she said.
“The fact that a man can look upon his own daughter and see nothing but a chance for sexual gratification is proof enough that we desperately need God in our lives. Let us not grow complacent or naive to the dangers that surround us”.
