…….State House Says Assertions Lack Factual Backing…..
Lydia Tembo
State House has expressed disappointment over former President Edgar Lungu’s claims that the UPND government is pushing for constitutional amendments to benefit the sitting President.
According to Clayson Hamasaka, Chief Communications Specialist at State House, Lungu’s recent Facebook post lacks factual backing and invites unnecessary criticism.
Hamasaka emphasized that no constitutional amendment process has begun and that any changes will be decided by the Zambian people.
Lungu, currently receiving medical treatment in South Africa, should focus on his recovery rather than engaging in divisive politics, Hamasaka added.
“More importantly, the focus should remain on Dr. Lungu’s health as he undergoes medical treatment outside the country.” Stated Hamasaka.
He said It’s crucial that Lungu’s official page prioritizes updates on his well-being, rather than engaging in divisive political discourse.
