………all persons attending a function, at which the President is in attendance, are expected to arrive before his arrival……
CLAIMS by the Tonse Alliance Acting National Youth Chairman Celestine Mukandila that he was stopped from attending the Youth Indaba at the Mulungushi Conference Center are misleading.
In his usual dramatic style Mukandila and his entourage arrived late for Youth Indaba when the guest of honor the president of the republic of Zambia Mr. Hakainde Hichilema was already in the auditorium.
The established protocol is that all persons attending a function, at which the President is in attendance, are expected to arrive before and to be in their place before his arrival.
Failure to do so without a reasonably good excuse is regarded as a sign of disrespect to the Office of President, security risk to the head of state and this is the common practice in all Commonwealth member states.
The real PF members who were in the corridors of power when Edgar Lungu was president know this very well and opted to remain in the car park when they realized the president had already arrived at the event.
