President Hakainde Hichilema has urged Japanese investors to tap into vast opportunities available in the mining sector to help drive the economic agenda of Zambia.
He writes:
We extended an invitation to Japanese companies to tap into the vast opportunities available in Zambia, particularly in copper, critical minerals, and energy, which will be instrumental in driving our economic goals, including the ambitious target of 3 million tonnes of annual copper production.
Our government is committed to supporting investment including Japanese investment in Zambia, a commitment reaffirmed during our bilateral meeting with the Japanese Government earlier today.
We firmly believe that Zambia is the ideal destination for business and look forward to fostering a stronger partnership with Japan.
Our ultimate goal is to grow our economy and improve the lives of our people.
Hakainde Hichilema,
President of the Republic of Zambia.
