GOVT TO UPGRADED THE 32KM CHIKANKATA-MAZABUKA ROAD TO BITUMINOUS STANDARD

Government says it will upgrade the 32 kilometres chikankata road to bituminous standard under the World Bank’s Improved Rural Connectivity Project.

Minister of Infrastructure and housing Charles Milupi says works the on the 32 kilometres stretch will commence this year.

He says government will have the Chikankata Road upgraded to bituminous standard looking at the economic activities in the area and the importance of Chikankata’s Salvation Army Mission, which has been existing since 1945.
