The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has concluded the briefing of District Election Officers ahead of nominations for the two National Assembly and two Ward by-elections.
The purpose of these meetings was to brief the District Election Officers on nomination and candidate procedures.
Today, 2nd January, 2025 the Commission is conducting a one day briefing of District Voter Education Trainers (DVETs) and the District Voter Education Committee (DVEC) coordinator ahead of nominations in the four districts.
The purpose of these briefings is to equip the trainers with the necessary skills and knowledge to train the Voter Education Facilitators (VEFs).
The Commission has prescribed Tuesday, 7th January 2025 as the date for holding nominations in the following constituencies and wards:
• Petauke Constituency in Petauke District of Eastern Province,
• Pambashe Constituency in Kawambwa District of Luapula Province,
• Ntanda Ward of Mpongwe District in Copperbelt Province, and
• Litawa Ward of Mongu District in Western Province.
Nominations will take place from 09:00 hours to 15:00 hours in the various districts.
