DISASTER Management and Mitigation Unit has provided aid to families that were affected by flash floods in Southern province.
DMMU National Coordinator Gabriel Pollen says the families have been given food, non food items and temporary shelter.
Dr. Pollen says in Siavonga, the people affected by floods have been camped at Manchanva Primary School where tents have been set up.
He says humanitarian assistance was also provided to about 267 families affected by Storm Chido in Sinda, Eastern Province a few weeks ago.
Dr. Pollen was speaking when Access Bank Zambia donated 263 by 50- kilogramme bags of beans worth K500,000 to DMMU.
Meanwhile, Access Bank Chief Executive Officer, Lishala Situmbeko said the Bank will continue supporting Government with short and long term interventions to climate change.
Mr. Situmbeko said the Bank is offering climate smart and friendly financial solutions to its customers.
