Mwansabombwe Council Chairman, Terrioh Mwape Chuungu, embarked on a heartwarming mission to bring joy and hope to the elderly and sick in his community over the weekend.
Chairman Chuungu, accompanied by councillors, visited 12 elderly individuals in each ward and 65 patients across various health facilities in the district.
He donated goods worth K30,000 and hosted luncheons for approximately 200 people at a cost of K25,000.
This initiative aimed to show love, care, and appreciation for the aged and sick, reminding them of their value to the community.
During these interactions, Chairman Chuungu identified challenges faced by the elderly, including lack of support and limited access to social cash transfer programs.
These findings will inform future efforts to address these issues. Chairman Chuungu’s project is part of his Corporate Social Responsibility to give back to the community that has entrusted him with leadership.
