KASAMA MUNICIPAL COUNCIL HOLDS SUCCESSFUL MEETING WITH MEDIA STAKEHOLDERS

Kasama Municipal Council, on Thursday, 19th December 2024, convened a strategic meeting with news editors and program officers from media houses, including ZANIS, Lono TV, Kasama Radio Station, and Radio Mano. The meeting, held in the Council Boardroom at the Civic Centre, was chaired by the Town Clerk, Mr. Moses Mwelwa.

This engagement was organized to strengthen collaboration between the Council and the media to enhance the effective and accurate dissemination of information on Constituency Development Funds (CDF), developmental programs, and other municipal services.

Furthermore, the meeting served as a platform to plan ahead for 2025, ensuring the Council’s communication strategies remain robust and responsive to public needs. Key issues discussed included: Identifying communication gaps;

Refining strategies to improve information flow; Strengthening partnerships with media stakeholders to promote inclusive and timely updates to the public.

The meeting was both fruitful and insightful, with meaningful contributions from all attendees. The Kasama Municipal Council extends its gratitude to ZANIS, Lono TV, Kasama Radio, and Radio Mano for their active participation and commitment to fostering better communication practices.

The Council highlights that open and effective communication is essential for fostering trust, ensuring transparency, and encouraging community involvement in governance processes. Moving forward, the collaboration with media stakeholders will remain a cornerstone of the Council’s strategy to engage its audience more effectively and deliver timely, impactful information.
