THE Miles Sampa led Patriotic Front (PF) faction has expelled Kantanshi area Member of Parliament Anthony Mumba with immediate effect.
Mr Mumba has been expelled from the party allegedly for continued gross misconduct as a PF party official.
According to a statement issued by PF faction president Miles Sampa, Mr Mumba has since been told to hand over all party documents with immediate effect.
He said the expulsion of Mr Mumba was a petition from party youths of Lusaka led by PF district Chairperson ,Kelvin Phiri.
Mr Sampa said the reasons for the expulsion include masquerading publicly and on social media as the Chairperson of the party when the party already has a bonafide Chairperson.
“Others include issuing constant public disparaging remarks to both current and former party leaders. Such statements from yourselves have brought the party into perpetual public idiom and disrepute, organising divisive clandestine meetings without consent of the undesigned and issuing statements on behalf of the party when not been appointed as the party spokesperson,” he said.
Mr Sampa said given the circumstances, as president of the PF, he holds powers and functions such as to take disciplinary action against a member of the party on the grounds of the member’s misbehavior.
“Another is to take a decision or an action which in his opinion is in the best interest of development or security of the party. Consequently and to curb disunity catalysts in the party, I formally notify you that you have with immediate effect been expelled as a member of the Patriotic Front due to your continued indiscipline and gross misconduct in the party,” he said.
