ZAMBIA’S ‘biggest’ musician Yo maps yesterday narrated to the Court that, despite having rendered an apology for calling his wife Kidist Kifle, a harlot, Facebook’s foul-mouthed king Elias Musyani issued rape threats against his wife and equally threatened to kidnap his three-year old daughter.
Yo maps whose official name is Elton Mulenga, said Musyani made several posts about his wife on his Facebook page labeling her as a Jezebel, a she-devil and called his daughter a dummy.
This is in a matter where Musyani is facing two counts of Harrasment using electronic means. 
In his testimony before magistrate Mutinta Mwenya, Yo maps narrated that on January 9, 2024 Musyani made a post about his wife calling her long face and another post on February 24, 2024 calling her a loose woman and a witch.
He said he stumbled upon another post on April 8, where Musyani censure his wife for being caressed by her male besties.
“I came from Malawi I decided to call him to find out what was the issue. I called him and asked him what the problem was. We had a very mature conversation where he apologized. On the same day, he posted that my wife had a long face and that’s when we decided to go to the law firm Nsapato,”the singer said.
He said his lawyer called Musyani on his mobile phone but he was equally not spared from indignity, as he was served a share of Kitwe styled insults.
“The following day, Elias Musyani called us in the morning. He called, we had a conversation with him and he decided to record the conversation. He called my child a gumugumiu (dummy) and called my wife a prostitute. In that conversation, he said he would send his thugs to kidnap my child, he said he knew what gym my wife went to and after, he posted the same phone call on the page,”Yo maps said.
The singer recounted that the blogger threatened to sexually assault his wife in his presence and capture his daughter.
“On April 20, 2024, he posted on his page that he knows where my child goes to school, where my wife goes to the gym and he can come and rape my wife in front of me. I screenshoted the information.”
“He posted a picture of my wife and said other men were touching my wife and he tagged my name Yo Maps, my artist name which is my trade mark. Olio is a record label. It is a company belonging to me.”
Yo maps said he had screenshots of the postings which he intended to produce as evidence and a recording of their phone conversation.
“The flash has a recording with Elias Musyani where he called my wife a prostitute and my child a gumugumu (dummy),” said Yo maps.
The court could not play the audio, due to the absence of an IT specialist.
The matter has been adjourned to January 10, 2025, for continuation of trial.
