Lungu hinted absconding the judgement that will determine whether his political career, when he met cleric apostle Christopher Kunda at the magistrates court after his wife’s theft case.
This was after the cleric enlivened Lungu and his wife Esther, assuring the couple that it was not far from his heart at mind.
Apostle Kunda said he will invoke divine favor on the couple’s court cases, especially the eligibility case.
“We are praying for you Mum, continue having faith in God. The bible says we shall never be disappointed. You have served this country, and we pray that the Lord will remember you greatly,” said apostle Kunda.
“Mr president it is well, we pray for 10th that the grace of God will prevail. We are praying for this nation for justice thank you very much we wish you the best.”
Lungu however indicated that he will not face the judges as they make a pronouncement, but he will stay home and follow proceedings on TV.
“I will watch proceedings from television, am told this time, there will be live coverage, so I will watch from home,” he said.
As the couple walked to Court seven to offer solidarity to the Kaumba siblings, who are in court for insulting his successor, Lungu engaged in a back and forth conversation with his wife and advisers, as he was half- hearted in entering the courtroom, in fear of causing confusion.
“I will disrupt proceedings, ….if I go in that court there will be disruption of proceedings naimwe(you also),”he told his wife and supporter Brebner Changala.
“Brebner you know what we are doing if I go in there I will disrupt proceedings.”
After being convinced that a seat would be reserved for him in the front row by his aide Chisanga Chanda, Lungu entered the court room.
Meanwhile Charles Hakuwa an assistant commissioner of police based at force headquarters said, he did not arrest Esther’s crony who allegedly helped her to steal property from a herbalist, because she pleaded with him not to meddle in their family affair.

Hakuwa added that he was not aware that herbalist Elizabeth Phiri, got money from Esther which she used to buy the properties.
