ZAMMSA ADDRESSES DELAY IN AMBULANCE DELIVERIES*

The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) acknowledges the delay in the delivery of ambulances as part of the efforts to enhance healthcare services across the country.

Zammsa communication manager Bradley Chingobe disclosed that Out of the 156 ambulances ordered from the Ace Pharmaceuticals and Aqueous Investments, only 11 have been delivered thus far.

,”According to the original delivery schedule, all 156 ambulances were to be delivered by the 31st of December 2024,” said Chingobe.Mr Chingobe states that However, due to unforeseen supplier issues, Ace Pharmaceuticals and Aqueous Investments have requested a contract extension, resulting in the current delay.

He poinyed out that ZAMMSA is actively working with both suppliers to expedite the delivery process and ensure that the remaining ambulances are delivered promptly.,” In the meantime, we have implemented interim measures to minimize any impact on healthcare services and ensure that patient care remains uninterrupted,” he said.,”We understand the importance of these ambulances in providing critical medical support to our communities and are committed to resolving this issue swiftly. Our team is in constant communication with Ace Pharmaceuticals and Aqueous Investments to address the delay and expedite the remaining deliveries. We appreciate the patience and understanding of the public and our stakeholders as we navigate this challenge. ZAMMSA remains dedicated to improving healthcare delivery and ensuring the availability of essential medical resources across Zambia.
