Construction works at Pembele Secondary School which is being upgraded into a boarding school in Kapululira Ward of Chirundu District have reached an advanced stage. Pembele Secondary School will be the district’s first boarding school and will without a doubt supplement Government’s efforts to provide education infrastructure around the country.
The school is being constructed by an organization called Promoting Equality in African Schools PEAS in order to contribute to development.
Chirundu Town Council (CTC) Chairperson, Nevers Muchindu who took time off his schedule to inspect and monitor progress made towards the project and expressed happiness with the ongoing works at the school.Mr Muchindu commended PEAS over the implementation of constructing the school and was pleased with the pace at which the project is moving.The Chairperson who was satisfied with the works so far said that, once the project is finalised it will contribute to delivery of quality education.“You know it is important to have the much needed infrastructure in our district as Government is implementing the free education. The construction of these facilities will help decongest schools and see our children learn in conducive environments,” he said.He said education facilities are critical adding that this is why the Government has deliberate policies to improve education infrastructure around the country.The Chairperson said the private sector and Non-Governmental Organisations NGOs played a significant role in education as they have been supplementing Government’s vision to improve the standard of education.His Worship highlighted that the education policies Government is implementing such as free education need to align with education facilities.
