Patriotic Front Chief Propagandist Emmanuel Mwamba has accused President Hakainde Hichilema of using traditional ceremonies to campaign for the 2026 general elections.
Mwamba, a former diplomat, claims that the president’s increased presence at grassroots level through attending traditional ceremonies makes it challenging to criticize him.
According to Mwamba, the president’s presence at the traditional ceremonies will damage the country’s cultural fabric and unity. 
Traditionally, presidents have been invited to attend cultural ceremonies, and President Hichilema has taken it upon himself to attend these events as part of his efforts to unite the country and combat regionalism.
His statement shared on PF platforms, urges President Hichilema to restrict his campaigns to the political arena, rather than using traditional ceremonies as a platform.
Mwamba urges traditional leaders to recognize the threat posed by President Hichilema’s actions and ensure that traditional ceremonies remain free from partisan politics and campaigns, despite pressure from State House.
