BEAUTY Katebe, a former chairperson of the Zambia National Women’s Lobby Group, has been chosen to serve as the new chairperson of the NGOCC Board of Governors. She was chosen at the 23rd NGOCC General Assembly, which took place from November 22–23, 2024, at the Andrews Motel in Lusaka.
She takes up the mantle from Grace Sinkamba, she brings to the table eleven years of experience having served as Chairperson, for the National Women’s body, an affiliate body of the NGOCC.

The NGOCC is an umbrella organisation that uses advocacy, networking, capacity building, and communication to coordinate and support member non-governmental organisations that address gender and development. NGOCC is today recognised as the centre of the women’s movement, having been founded by a few Zambian gender-focused NGOs in 1985 following the United Nations Conference on Women in Nairobi, Kenya.
NGOCC has a membership of 111 Member Organisations spread across the 10 Provinces of Zambia.
NGOCC holds its General Assembly every three years. The General Assembly is the supreme organ of the organisation. In between the general elections, the Board of Governors provide strategic policy direction to Secretariat.
