BENEFICIARIES OF FISP IN RUFUNSA URGED TO AVOID DISCREPANCIES

RUFUNSA District Commissioner Richard Mabena has urged beneficiaries for the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) not to leave any amount of money in their accounts when redeeming their inputs to avoid discrepancies.

Mr Mabena noted that in the 2023 -2024 farming season, some farmers faced challenges in accessing the funds which they left in their accounts.

The District Commissioner said this when he addressed farmers who he found redeeming their inputs at Agro shops in the district.

“I am urging you all that you should redeem every fund from your account to avoid what happened in the last farming season were the funds went missing,” said Mr Mabena

Mr Mabena also urged the farmers not to sell the inputs as this will be defeating the purpose of FISP.

“Some people are tricky, they will entice you to sell them the inputs especially fertiliser but all l can say is do not sell the fertilizer, why do you want to become a slave to other people when government is giving you inputs at a subsidised price,” said Mr Mabena.

He further warned that the government will not tolerate anyone found selling the inputs.
