GOVERNMENT has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting regional peace and stability in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mulambo Haimbe notes that promoting peace and stability in the region will help countries to develop.
Mr Haimbe made these remarks at the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Extraordinary Summit in Harare, Zimbabwe on Wednesday.

“Ahead of the main summit, preparatory engagements, including the Ministerial Committee of the Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation, the Council of Ministers and the Organ Troika Summit Plus Troop Contributing Countries and the DRC, have been planned.” He added.
Mr Haimbe disclosed that as the outgoing Chair of the Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation, Zambia’s participation highlights its enduring dedication to fostering regional harmony.
He explained that Zambia aims to consolidate collective efforts toward securing lasting peace in Eastern DRC which is a crucial step toward advancing intra-regional trade and investment.
Mr Haimbe’s participation underscores Zambia’s pivotal role in SADC’s peace-building initiatives.
And the Minister is expected to return to Zambia immediately after concluding his official engagements in Harare.
