This close associate of Lungu has repeatedly stated that regardless of the ruling on the former president’s eligibility, he will be on the ballot in 2026.

Where is the respect for judges in Nakachinda’s actions? He is essentially disrespecting the courts of law while complaining to Chief Justice Mumba Malila, asking for fairness and objectivity.

In September 2024, while addressing Lungu supporters at the party secretariat, Nakachinda said that if Lungu is not on the ballot, there will be no elections.

He has repeatedly made this statement on various platforms. His sentiments imply that if the courts rule against Lungu’s eligibility, there will be no elections. In essence, he is anticipating violence if Lungu is declared ineligible for the next elections.

We are aware that Nakachinda is heavily influenced by Edgar Lungu. Notably, Nakachinda was the parliament chairperson for the committee scrutinizing Bill 10 and receiving recommendations. Recently, Nakachinda stated, “To our party, President Lungu is contesting elections in 2026, so I am urging our party members to mobilize and organize themselves.”
