The Lusaka City Council (LCC) is pleased to announce that it has received a remarkable total of 13,918 applications for Skills Training and Secondary School Bursaries for the year 2025, all to be funded under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Of these applications, 13,346 are for Skills Training, while 572 applicants seek Secondary School Bursaries.
The overwhelming response reflects the demand for educational opportunities and the Government’s commitment to expanding access learning facilities through the CDF.
In addition to bursary applications, the Council received applications for other CDF-supported programs for the 2025 funding cycle.
The application window closed at the end of October 2024, and the Council has now begun the thorough review process to select candidates to be support.
The list of successful candidates will be announced by the end of December and those awarded bursaries will be expected to report to their assigned learning institutions promptly, as their academic programs commence.
Furthermore, successful candidates are encouraged to attend their classes as scheduled at their respective institutions. Selected candidates must note that learning institutions will invoice the Council directly for tuition payments; therefore, students do not need to wait for fees to be paid to begin their studies.
This approach ensures that CDF beneficiaries start learning on time, while the Council maintains transparency and accountability in the payment process.
This procedure also ensures that educational institutions comply with Government standards for CDF disbursement, reinforcing the Local Authority’s commitment to efficiency and best practices.
Through the Local Authorities, the Government is committed to providing financial support for educational development, ensuring that citizens have the resources needed to advance their skills and improve their lives.
