POLICE URGED TO STOP UNREGISTERED GROUPS FROM MEETING

Governance and Development Advocates Zambia (GDAZ) has strongly condemned unregistered political groupings, urging them to disband immediately for non-compliance with Zambian law.

Executive Director Elias Mulenga called on authorities to prevent these groups from meeting, citing risks to national stability and democratic principles.

He specifically highlighted the Tonse Alliance, stating that while constituent parties are registered, their meetings are illegal as the alliance itself is unregistered.

Meanwhile The Launch of the Toonse Alliance scheduled for today at Melsim Lodge has shifted venue to Palmwood Lodge in Ngwerere Chongwe district.

This is third time the alliance is shifting the venue without clear valid reason.

According to Alliance spokesperson Sean Tembo claimed police directed the proprietors of the lodge not to proceed hosting the event.

Earlier today Patriotic Front chief Propaganda Emmanuel Mwamba through his aligned social media pages claimed police sealed off Melsim Lodge to prevent the launch of the alliance.

The alliance launch has shifted the venue for the third time. But sources claim the alliance didn’t pay for the venue. The lodge management demanded upfront payment before they could allow the event.
