National Food and Nutrition Commission (NFNC), Deputy Executive Director Mathews Mhuru says the government has made progress in addressing issues of nutrition in the country despite the effects of the drought.
Mr Mhuru reports that over the last 10 years stunting levels, the country has moved from 46 percent to 35 percent in 2024.
He adds that the government’s swift approach to drought has been positive.
Mr Mhuru further notes that by working with various cooperating partners in drought affected areas, the government is improving the overall nutrition status in the country.
He has since urged the public to eat healthy to avoid non communicable diseases and other health complications by incorporating local indigenous nutritious foods in their diets.
