A Zambia Institute of Animal Health, also known as ZIAH graduate, Ruth Mtonga has called on govt through the ministry of Livestock and fisheries to open up some job opportunities to Veterinary officers.
SPEAKING in an interview, Ruth Mtonga pointed out that the recruitment of Veterinary officer and paraprofessionals once actualized will help the livestock sector to have health animals boost the beef production in Zambia.
Ms Mtonga also disclosed that last year Zambia experienced its worst anthrax epidemic in more than a decade.
She also says the number of veterinary and veterinary technicians is growing up every year without employment.
Ms Mtonga stated that government should put the interests creating opportunities for veterinary officers.
she said government should consider recruiting more technician in the field of science and animal husbandry as well as constructing more dip tanks across the country both in rural and urban areas.
