Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport (SMKIA) has been awarded the prestigious title of “Best International Airport – Regional” for Southern Africa at the World Luxury Travel Awards 2024.Zambia Airports Corporation Limited has announced the development.ZACL Acting Communications and Brand Manager, Monde Yamalezi, disclosed to ZANIS in a statement that the award was presented at the gala ceremony held in Bali, Indonesia.Ms Yamalezi said the award is an indication of the airport’s exceptional service to travellers both local and international.“This award reflects ZACL’s commitment to enhancing Zambia’s aviation landscape and reaffirms SMKIA’s dedication to providing exceptional service to travelers from around the world,” she affirmed.She thanked the people who made it possible for the Ndola based airport to win through casting their votes.The World Luxury Travel Awards which were established in 2006, are the pinnacle of achievement in the luxury industry offering international recognition as voted by guests, travellers and industry players alike.Travel institutions have the opportunity to participate in the awards by entering categories that showcase their unique selling points and destinations.Over 300,000 international travellers vote each year during a four-week period to select winners.
